Ambler Metals Welcomes Presidential Approval of Ambler Road Permits Through ANILCA

Company Reaffirms Commitment to Collaboration with Tribal Partners and Responsible Development

October 6, 2025 – Anchorage, Alaska – Ambler Metals today welcomed President Donald Trump’s decision under the Alaska National Interest Lands Conservation Act (ANILCA) to issue permits for the construction of the Ambler Road. This critical step reverses the prior administration’s “no action” decision and mandates that all necessary federal permits and authorizations be issued, granted, and finalized to ensure adequate and feasible access to Alaska’s Ambler Mining District.

As part of this process, the company pledges to continue working with NANA Regional Corporation, Doyon Ltd. and other stakeholder partners to build consensus and even more local support for the Ambler Road, which will be constructed using environmental best practices and in full compliance with all applicable standards.

President Trump’s direction to the applicable federal agencies to promptly issue these permits is a critical step toward unlocking the vast mineral potential of the Ambler Mining District, a region rich in strategic minerals vital to the U.S. economy, national security, and jobs in Alaska. The President's decision reflects a renewed federal commitment to responsible resource development in Alaska and acknowledges the importance of balancing economic opportunity with environmental and cultural protections.

“We thank President Trump, his administration and members of Congress for recognizing the importance of the Ambler Road to Alaska and to the nation,” said Ambler Metals Managing Director Kaleb Froehlich. “This road will help secure the critical minerals our country needs for economic competitiveness and national defense, while also delivering meaningful benefits here at home. For rural Alaskans, this road represents opportunity, good-paying jobs, essential revenues for remote communities, and a chance to build a more resilient local economy. It’s a pathway to both national strength and regional prosperity.”

Ambler Metals also expressed its appreciation to Alaska Governor Mike Dunleavy and the Alaska Industrial Development and Export Authority (AIDEA) for their leadership and long-term support in advancing the Ambler Road.

Froehlich additionally reiterated the importance of working with Tribal partners and local communities to continue to build support for the Ambler Road.

“At Ambler Metals, we believe that no project in the Ambler Mining District can move forward without the enduring and lasting support of the people who live there. Social license isn’t just a goal – it’s the foundation of how we operate. We are committed to ensuring that local communities see real, lasting benefits from this road in the form of jobs, investment, and opportunities for future generations. The future of any project in this region will be built not only on plans and permits, but on partnership and shared purpose.”

The Ambler Road is a proposed 211-mile, controlled industrial access road that would connect the Ambler Mining District to the Dalton Highway. This infrastructure is essential for the development of high-grade copper, cobalt, zinc, lead, and other critical minerals necessary for modern technology, energy systems, and national defense applications.
