Shalon Harrington

EXTERNAL AFFAIRS DIRECTOR

Shalon Harrington is the External Affairs Director for Ambler Metals LLC. A lifelong Alaskan and shareholder with Cook Inlet Region, Inc., she holds a Bachelor of Science in Political Science. Most recently, she was the Chief of Staff at the Pebble Limited Partnership, gaining valuable experience in stakeholder relations and in communications. Prior to her time with Pebble Limited Partnership, she worked with Arctic Slope Regional Corporation as the Director of Government Affairs. Her early career includes working for more than a decade at various levels of government with Alaska elected officials.

Harrington enjoys spending time with her family fishing and experiencing the great outdoors of Alaska.

Cal Craig

ENVIRONMENTAL & PERMITTING MANAGER

Cal Craig is the Environmental and Permitting Manager for Ambler Metals.  Mr. Craig has been involved in the Upper Kobuk Mineral Projects since 2011.  Prior to joining Ambler Metals, Mr. Craig worked at Donlin Creek located in western Alaska from 2007-2010. 

Mr. Craig received a B.Sc in Land Resources and Environmental Science from Montana State University-Bozeman and a Masters Degree in Environmental Engineering from the University of Alaska-Anchorage.

Mr. Craig enjoys spending time with family, hiking, biking, fishing, and experiencing the great outdoors.

Kirsten Fristad

CHIEF GEOLOGIST

Kirsten is the Chief Geologist for Ambler Metals LLC. She is a geologist and geochemist with more than 14 years of field experience, mostly north of the Arctic Circle. She has been at Ambler Metals since early 2021, establishing the largest mapping and sampling program across the VHMS Belt since 2006. Prior to Ambler Metals, she worked for HighGold at the Johnson Tract and spent several years exploring for Teck Resources in the Red Dog District and Pend Oreille. Fristad is an author on numerous peer-reviewed scientific publications on geologic processes, mineral deposits, and environmental change. She earned a Bachelor of Arts with Honors in Geology and Physics from Macalester College in Saint Paul, Minnesota and a PhD in Geology and Geochemistry from the University of Oslo in Norway.

Fristad enjoys skiing, hiking, fishing, and hunting in the Alaskan backcountry and is passionate about making informed decisions about the land we rely on to survive and thrive.
