Ramzi Fawaz

Ramzi Fawaz was appointed as the President and Chief Executive Officer of Ambler Metals on September 1, 2020. Mr. Fawaz worked for Newmont Corporation, as Senior Vice President Projects from February 2011 to October 2019 where he was responsible for the development and execution of Newmont’s global major gold & copper projects.

Prior to joining Newmont, Mr. Fawaz served as Senior Vice President Operations of Atomic Energy Canada Ltd. from January 2010 to February 2011where he was responsible for all project development, refurbishment and building of CANDU reactor projects. Before his endeavor with Atomic Energy, Mr. Fawaz held the role of Vice President of Royal Dutch Shell, where he worked for 30 years in various roles. Among those, he was responsible for leading the Athabasca Oil Sands Expansion Project in Canada and the Nigeria LNG Train 3 and LPG expansion project in Nigeria.

Mr. Fawaz brings extensive leadership experience in US and international project development. Throughout his career, Mr. Fawaz has engaged extensively with various stakeholders related to major project developments, including executive management, boards of directors, shareholders, local communities, contractors, utilities and various regional and federal government agencies.

Mr. Fawaz has a Bachelor of Science in electrical engineering at the American University of Beirut in Lebanon and a Master’s degree in power engineering at the University of California, Berkeley. He is married with 3 children.

Rebecca Donald

Vice President Finance

Rebecca Donald

Rebecca Donald is Vice President Finance for Ambler Metals. She combines solid financial experience with over 20 years in the oil and gas industry. Prior to joining Amber Metals she served in financial roles with BP Exploration (Alaska) Inc. from 2006 – 2020. Most recently Rebecca played a key role on the financial settlement strategy of two major asset divestments, including a full exit of BP operations in Alaska. Earlier in her career, she held various finance roles with Accenture plc.

Rebecca is passionate about developing Alaska resources in a safe, environmentally friendly, and sustainable manner leading to economic growth in Alaska.

She holds a Bachelor of Business Administration in Accounting from the University of Alaska, Anchorage and is a Certified Public Accountant. She is married with 2 children and spends her spare time at hockey rinks and fishing in Prince William Sound.

Kevin Torpy

Vice President Operations

Kevin Torpy

Kevin Torpy is Vice President Operations for Ambler Metals. He is a mining engineer with twenty-four years of experience developing, building, and operating mines. Prior to joining Ambler Metals, he was Vice President Operations at Titan Mining Corporation where he oversaw the restructuring and operational turnaround of the Empire State Mine in Northern New York State. Kevin held several positions of increasing responsibility including General Manager at Pretium Resources' Brucejack Mine in British Columbia during the advanced exploration, construction, and startup phases of the project.

Kevin's Alaska experience includes the Kensington Mine where he was Technical Services Superintendent through construction and the Pogo Mine where he was an Operations Engineer during the advanced exploration and construction phases.

Other experience also includes Project Engineer positions with Silver Standard Resources on various projects in Mexico and Argentina and with JS Redpath on a shaft sinking project in Wyoming.

Kevin has a Bachelor of Science in Mining Engineering from Montana Tech and received the E.A. Scholz Award from the Association for Mineral Exploration for excellence in mine development in British Columbia. He is married with two children.
